The 52-minute-long work, directed by Thierry Demaizière and Alban Teurlai, is one of a series of profiles by the TV channel on personalities in France, dubbed "Empreintes," or "Impressions." Featuring in-depth interviews with Lagerfeld, as well as footage of the designer in action, the film explores his life story, starting with his childhood in Germany. Sharing memories of his mother, Lagerfeld recounts: "When I asked her to tell me stories, she would say, 'Learn to read.' And when I wanted to tell her one, she would come back with: 'You may be four years old, but I am not.'"
