It's the nephew's birthday Friday & he's still at camp, so these cookies are headed to Culver.
i decided to give Cook's Illustrated's Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies a try, swapping in M&Ms for the chips. there's no question the flavor benefits from browning the butter in a skillet, but the cookies spread a ton & baked up wafer thin. this usually happens when the kitchen is overly warm & the dough gets too soft, but it was nice & cool here today in SF so i'm not sure what the deal was.
not that i'm incapable of messing up a recipe (i'm totally capable), but this isn't exactly my first rodeo with chocolate chip cookies either.
