chai.



What I want lately is chai. That's pretty much it. It's cold, it's grey & I want chai. Getting a good chai latte from a coffee place is hit or miss. Too sweet, not sweet enough or they use Tazo chai tea which tastes just awful. So I decided to make my own.

I used Vintage Chai's recipe except I upped the cloves by 1/2 tsp, the cardamom by 1/4 tsp and I used some killer vanilla paste in place of vanilla extract. Oh and I splurged on some good tea. 

This--

chai powder and black tea

becomes this--

chai concentrate

which, heated with milk, becomes this--

hot chai

Even though I'll continue to play around with the amounts of spices, this stuff is really, really good. The sweetness (honey and brown sugar) is just perfect.
